Congratulations to the FIE who celebrated 100 years

Gala Dinner held in Paris to celebrate the occasion

IWAS is pleased to congratulate the International Fencing Federation (FIE) for reaching the impressive milestone of 100 years.

On 29 November 1913, the FIE was founded by the representatives of 9 nations: UK, Belgium, Germany, Italy, France, Hungary, The Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Norway.

IWAS Wheelchair Fencing have had the pleasure to work alongside the FIE for four consecutive World Championship which have been hosted together, and look forward to future collaborations.

Following several events throughout their centennial year, the FIE celebrated with a Gala Dinner in Paris on the 29th November, which was attended by Wheelchair Fencings Chairman Jakub Nowicki and Secretary General, Udo Ziegler.

Following the event Chairman, Mr Nowicki made the following comment.

“It was honour to celebrate Centennial of FIE and to take part in such amazing event. I was proud by representing our sport and all wheelchair fencers from all over the world. I would like to wish FIE next 100 years full of success and thank for promoting integration”.
