Media accreditation opens for Terni 2023 World Championships


The media accreditation process for the 2023 Wheelchair Fencing World Championships, taking place in Terni, Italy, from 3-8 October, is open.

The Championships, which are the most important competition to take place ahead of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and will be a major qualifier, will be held at the PalaTerni.

Some of the world’s top fencers are set to compete in Terni, including Italian Paralympic champion Bebe Vio-Grandis and multiple other medallists from Tokyo 2020, Rio 2016 and London 2012.

Athletes have just competed at the fourth World Cup of 2023 on the way to the World Championships in Busan, South Korea. Hungary, Great Britain, Ukraine, Poland, South Korea, and Thailand all left with golds alongside Italy.

Accreditation is open from 1-30 September.

Accreditation Requirements:

  1. Submission of a request signed by the editor-in-chief of the media outlet.
  2. Names, surnames, birthdates, and Professional Journalist Card numbers of the journalists who will attend the event.
  3. Copy of the Professional Journalist Card from the Journalists’ Association (Professionals or Publicists list).

Photo identification:

To facilitate the accreditation process, applicants must provide a high-resolution JPG photo – passport-sized format with a close-up of the face – for each journalist participating in the event. These photos will be used to create accreditations and should be attached at the time of the accreditation request.

Submission Procedure:

Accreditation requests, complete with all required documents, can be sent via email to before the accreditation deadline.

Accreditation collection:

Access passes will be distributed at the PalaTerni venue starting from 2 October. Please ensure that a representative from your team is present to collect the passes and ensure smooth access during the event.
