Headline: [Incheon APG] ‘Over Hong Kong and China’ Korea aims for 2 Golden medals in Fencing
The wheelchair fencing national team led by the manager Jang Hyun-gwan has finished their preparations to win the gold medal. This match will probably be a fight for the golden medal between China, Hong kong and ROK. "Our goal is to win two gold medals for the singles. We are training to beat Hong kong and China.
This is the resolution of Jang Hyun-gwan, the manager of the Korean team for the Incheon 2014 Asian Para Games. He pointed out that our team does have good skills, yet have a weak stamina due to their age. He also said that they will face this challenge and overcome it with their willpower and vigor.
He continued, "Our athletes do not lag behind that much from Hong kong and China. It’s just that our athletes have a rather high age, therefore lacking stamina. We do not fall behind in athletic performances or skills, but our stamina restrains us towards the end of the match."
The reason why shifts in the generations are not occuring that often is due to the inadequate environment. "We do have young athletes, yet most of them has different jobs, so they can’t focus everything just on the games, so they cannot participate in training sessions." he said with pity. Adding on to that, he claimed that making a semi-professional team with the members so that they would be able to make a living out of it will improve the effectiveness of training, enhance the national prestige, and allow to discover talented athletes.

"Chinese and Hong kong athletes make a living out of fencing, so they spend way more time training than us. However, we have a stronger will. We will participate with vigor." he said, showing a strong desire to win.
Kim Sun-mi(25, Physically disabled), the silver medalist of the last Guangzhou 2010 Asian Para Games, was picked as the rising star of the team. She has made a meteoric appearance and won the silver medal. "The ace of the team is once again Kim Sun-mi. She is capable of surpassing the Hong kong and Chinese athletes." Manager Jang said.
Kim Sun-mi had lost at the quarter finals match of the 2012 London Olympics, and she is determined to win a medal this time. "My goal is to get a medal" she said,?"this time, I’m participating in the team matches too. I will bring good news not only for the singles, but for the team match also."
